Cheri Garnet
Cheri Garnet came to UUSD as a Visitor and discovered her spiritual home.
About that e
xperience, she says: “l felt like I had walked into a warm pool of water!” She is grateful to be a Member of this community. In this Transitional Facilities Pointperson role, Cheri will be working to help clarify the responsibilities and qualifications of the permanent Facilities Pointperson position for future advertising to the larger region.
Cheri was born curious. Understanding the puzzle of how things work and how to fix them when they break, led her to a lifetime of learning, creating, building, and repairing.
Most recently, she retired after 14 years of working in the field of electrical construction as a Journeyman Electrician.
Cheri spent the previous 10 years creating stained glass pieces and selling her work at juried art shows and women’s festivals throughout the midwest and east coast.
Prior to that she was employed for 12 years at the US Postal Service as a postal carrier, maintenance mechanic and then in safety management.
Through these work experiences, she has honed her electrical, plumbing, and general “handyperson” skills.
