“Keeping the Heart(h),” Guest Speaker Leika Lewis-Cornwell: For millennia, the hearth has been a gathering place for family, community, and hungry travelers. As we head into the winter season, what does the ancient tradition of hearth fires mean for us as people of commitment and interconnection? This interactive service will honor the ways the fiery heart of the community lives on in our very modern world.

Leika Lewis (they/them) is a UU seminarian, poet, and Humanist theologian in their last year of study at Chicago Theological Seminary. Sharing Our Stories

Each of us at UUSD has a different story to tell about how we found a spiritual home here. A few of us are life-long UUs but most are not, having come from a variety of other religious backgrounds or from no particular place of faith. Whatever our journey, sharing the stories of the paths we took helps connect us to each other and to the shared journey we are now making.
