Our Share the Plate offering in March is for Springboard Collaborative Pallet Village in Georgetown, DE. The mission of the Collaborative is to provide a dignified, safe, and cost-effective solution to immediate needs for housing, health care, job training, etc., that will become a stepping-stone to more stable, permanent housing and self-sufficiency for those in need. The current “neighborhood” of 40 shelters is housing 50 adults, including some couples. Three meals per day are being provided by a team of volunteers using a local Methodist church kitchen while the community building is being completed. There is a busy staff of case workers/navigators to help residents achieve their goals.
