Discovering Beauty in Life — a Humanist Perspective

UUSD Humanist Study Group

A Humanist perspective seeks beauty in all aspects of the universe.  In these difficult times, we can use Humanist energy to find beauty in our congregation and other communities.

All are welcome to view the Service on UUSD’s Facebook page. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can see the service on the UUSD website, just click here (https://uussd.org//facebook/) and scroll to the service post.

In-person Sunday Services and classes are cancelled until further notice.  Check the UUSD website and UUSD Facebook for updated information, as it becomes available.

Activities at UUSD have been impacted by the current COVID-19 pandemic. Please check the UUSD calendar to determine if activities have been rescheduled or will be taking place in alternative ways.

Your Board, Minister, and staff will continue working on contingency plans as we monitor the changing situation and will keep you updated as needed. The Communications Team has set up a website page that includes important links, updated information, and tips for staying healthy as we deal with this health emergency. Click on: https://uussd.org//community-life/coronavirus/.

Stay healthy!

UUSD will follow best practices recommended by health authorities, the UUA, and government. You will be kept informed of any changes and receive regular updates through email, Facebook, and the website page.

Remember, there are two primary ways COVID-19 is transmitted — touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, eyes or nose, or from droplets created by others who cough, sneeze, or even talk within 6 feet of you. It can survive on surfaces for a few hours or up to a few days, depending on variables like type of surface, temperature, and humidity.

Wash your hands fully and often. Scrub with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and rinse thoroughly with clean water. (Singing Happy Birthday to You twice takes 20 seconds.) Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands, particularly mouth, nose, and eyes.

Our goal is to continue our ministry together even as circumstances change. Soon, this will pass, and we will be able to be together once again. Until then, take good care of yourselves and please be in touch with Rev. Michelle (

Health and blessings to everyone.
