It can feel like such an accomplishment to get our individual list of tasks completed. Countering our country’s persistent over-valuing of individualism, though, means placing just as much value in those activities that require collaborating with others, reaching out to others, being vulnerable with others, being patient with others’ ways of getting things done. What all do we mean by “shared”?
