African Spirituality
Mac and Susan Goekler, UUSD Members
Nana Kweku Dua I and Nana Ekua Ansimah I are two UUSD members known at UUSD by their American name, Mac and Susan Goekler. Having been adopted into a village in Ghana, they will share some insights into the spirituality of the Akan.
Their exploration includes how a village’s daily spiritual practice coexists harmoniously with western religions, the centrality of community and family to spirituality, and relationships with ancestors and concepts of time.
