February’s AFE Sunday Forum
February 2, 2025 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the FE Room
“THE YAMAS AND NIYAMAS: PART TWO”
Being human is a complicated thing. The Yamas and Niyamas are the foundations for all yogic thought. You can think of them as guidelines, ethical disciplines, restraints, or just jewels. These are the first two limbs on the Eight-Fold Path. Yamas are nonviolence, truthfulness, non-stealing, non-excess, and non-possessiveness. The Niyamas are purity, contentment, self-discipline, self- study, and surrender.
2024 gave a lot of us reasons to feel powerless. How do we shift from powerlessness to something else? How do we avoid feelings like anger, aggression, depression, frustration, and victimization? Join us for our continued discussion about “what the Yamas and Niyamas might bring to the table.”
The AFE Team Forum invites connection through thoughts and feelings that inspire. This discussion is a public forum, open to all and is designed for non-religious and religious people with the intent to bring participants together who seek conversation with kindness. We hope you will join us in our shared journey to seek truth, meaning, and purpose in life.
Our February AFE Team Forum discussion leader will be Bobbe Baggio. For more information, email Bobbe at b.baggio@uussd.org
