Interdependence Day: Rev. Dr. S. Ronald Parks

The Fourth of July is both a congregational and a national “holy-day.” In our Time for All Ages, we’ll talk about how and why we’re having our first worship service in the sanctuary in 69 weeks and what it means to be together again. A special pandemic “souvenir” will be unveiled and made available to anyone who may want a memento of our journey back home to our sanctuary.

July 4th is also our nation’s birthday. On that day in 1776, the 56 members of the Second Continental Congress approved their Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. We’ll reflect on the often-precarious balance between personal freedom and social responsibility and celebrate our faith community’s “declaration of interdependence.”

Coffee hour will be held on Zoom at 4 p.m. To join, click on http://Us02web.zoom.us/j/82196792268?pwd=MGw2aUJjNWVleXJuRVpseUQ0ZWp6dz09.

This worship service will be held in-person at UUSD; reservations are required.  The service will also be livestreamed on the UUSD website at https://uussd.org//livestream
