If You’re Happy and You Know It, Is That Okay?

Reading the news of the world these days can be a completely depressing experience. Sometimes the comforts and joys of our lives can feel so out-of-sync with the world, they can feel almost…wrong. And yet we all need joy in our lives.
How do we practice contentment and gratitude while not averting our gaze from the burning, tumultuous, complicated, messy (and still beautiful!) world around us?
Children’s Religious Education theme for August 22: Learning to Work Together: Children will play games that teach and require cooperation. They will come to consensus on a name for their group. UU Principles 1,2,3,5, & 6 will be the focus.
Coffee hour will be held in-person at USSD on Sunday, August 22.
The worship service is being livestreamed and digitally recorded. Photos and videos may also be taken. Space is available at the back of the sanctuary for those who do not want their image or the images of their children livestreamed, recorded, archived, photographed, and posted on the UUSD’s website, social media, or in print.
