10:00 a.m., “Flower Communion Sunday,” Rev. Heather Rion Starr:

The Flower Communion service was created by Rev. Norbert Capek (1870-1942), who founded the Unitarian Church in Czechoslovakia. He introduced the Flower Communion to the congregation there on June 4, 1923. For this service, each person is asked to bring a flower or small bouquet of your choice and place it in a vase during the service. For those of you who will be participating online, please send a photo of yourself, holding up a flower, to our AV Team at

av********@gm***.com

no later than June 3. Just as no two flowers are alike, so no two people are alike, yet each has a contribution to make. Join us in celebrating Flower Communion!

UUSD requires that only vaccinated individuals (who are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID) attend in-person services. On the day of the service, if you have a fever or are feeling ill, please stay home and enjoy our livestream service. Click here to register for the morning in-person service. Masks are not required but certainly an option for those who choose to wear one. On the Sundays when the Children’s Faith Exploration program takes place in the Gathering Area, everyone must be masked to enter that space because some of our younger children are not yet eligible for vaccinations.
