Creeds and Deeds
Rev. Dr. Ron Parks:
We live in a time when the contours of our personal beliefs have been exposed in new and surprising ways.
Our integrity (or lack thereof) is being tested as we’re invited/compelled to choose sides on issues ranging from individual responsibility (e.g., wearing a face mask) to communal accountability (e.g., working for social justice and equality). So how can people of faith create a unified witness in the midst of such diverse and disparate messages? The answer may be found in a 161-year old wheelbarrow and the lessons it teaches on the difference between “Creeds and Deeds.”
