Joy ComesRev. Heather Rion Starr

“In this place, we remind each other why we persist,” UU Minister Rev. Gretchen Haley writes. Today we will focus on the patience, persistence, and perseverance we need to hang on until a dream is realized or enough time passes, and we accept what is. Joy will come. Immediately following this service, there will be an unveiling and celebration of our newly-installed outdoor Chalice Sculpture. Plan to join us!

Click here to register for the in-person service.

Social time will be held in-person at UUSD on Sunday, December 12 but after the Chalice Dedication Ceremony (see below). Visitors and newcomers are welcome. We look forward to greeting everyone, both new members and those who have been with us longer. The Zoom social time after service has been discontinued.

Chalice in colorImmediately after the service today, we will dedicate our beautiful new chalice sculpture on the front lawn. First, we will have a few minutes in the sanctuary to thank all those who have been involved, briefly review the history of the project, and view a wonderful video (created by our resident video gurus, Sue Brown and Alleane Taylor) which will be a pictorial overview of the project. We will then go outside, unveil the chalice, and Rev. Heather will give a blessing. We will return to the Gathering Area for cake, coffee, and conversation.

Please plan to join us on December 12 to help celebrate the addition of the chalice sculpture to our beautiful property.
