Juneteenth Parade: UUSD was one of the largest contingents in the Juneteenth parade in Georgetown on June 18. What a great way to celebrate the first time Juneteenth is a recognized national holiday! Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester had her picture taken with our parade contingent and several of us had a chance to chat with her. Our new UUSD t-shirts, added to the parade banner and van roof-top chalice, made us quite visible. The UUSD on the shirts prompted questions that allowed us to tell who we are. Following the parade, several others from UUSD joined the festivities. Then on June 25, many UUSDers also attended the first ever Juneteenth event in Lewes.
